Tony and I went to Houston this past weekend for a belated 3rd anniversary celebration. Below I have chronicled our trip. I hope you have as much fun reading about it as we did experiencing it.
So, below you will see some pictures of a fun little place we stopped at called the Igloo Outlet Store near Katy, TX. The picture is of a guard office or something. So, Tony says, "That person's got the coolest office in the world." I didn't really get it at first, and I did think it was a neat office to have. But like 10 minutes later I busted out laughing and was like, "The coolest office in the world. That's great..." Yeah yeah, I know, I'm a dork.

Below shows a picture of Tony and I at the restaurant I picked out for Friday night, Sorrento. Well, the picture was of most of Tony and all of me. I guess the waiter was having a hard time with my camera. These darn new fangled contraptions. The food was sooooo good. Tony's short rib fell off the bone and I had Veal Osso Buco Ravioli which is made fresh at the restaurant. Yummy!!

We decided we weren't yet ready to call it a night after my restaurant so we headed to a restaurant that our GPS recommended and called, "The Velvet Elvis". I was definitely ready to see a Velvet painting of Elvis but we were surprised when we got there and it was really called The Velvet Melvin. There were not velvet paintings in sight and who the heck is Melvin? ha ha... We had one drink each there. I ordered a Jack and Diet Coke with lime. When it came out, I took a sip and just about breathed fire. Now, the ladies who went on the "Lisa's turning 21 so let's go to Vegas Trip" will know that this is called a Holy Mother of God drink. We ordered a taller glass and some more diet coke to go with my whiskey. I know, I know... I can't hang. ;-)

Okay, so this is the silliest thing. We went to the Galleria, because that's what you do when you visit Houston, and we walked through Nordstrom or something. Well, who should we come upon but Dr. 90210 himself,
Dr. Robert Rey. You know, the guy from E! that does all the implants and what not. I guess he was there promoting a make up line or something or maybe he was taking orders for cheek implants (which cheeks you ask?), but anyway, I saw him and decided I needed to pretend like I was one of the other 50 women there who were taking pictures. Sorry girls, he's married. tee hee... I know, I was sort of surprised too.

When we were leaving the Galleria on Saturday we passed by this nursery on the corner which had created Topiaries in the middle portion of the street. I really thought it was pretty neat. Take a look!

So, Saturday night Tony had chosen a Steak House called Del Frisco's. He had first read about it on the plane to Vegas and was very excited for us to try it out. He was sort of disappointed at first to find out that the restaurant was actually attached to the Galleria, but once we got it I think any disappointment he had was gone. It was really nice on the inside! The waitstaff were very nice and the food was really great! Sorry the picture is so blurry, I guess the waiter was shaky or something.

Okay, so below is the reason we decided to celebrate our anniversary in Houston, Kathy Griffin! She was performing at the Verizon Wireless Theater in Downtown Houston in the Theater District. It was a pretty neat Theater, pretty small so our seats were even better than we thought they would be. As soon as we got there we had to go to the restroom. So, I headed to the ladies room figuring I was in for a really long wait since they let everyone into the theater late and now EVERYONE was having to use the restroom. Well, all I have to say is "Thank God for Gay men and for the fact that gay men love Kathy Griffin!" This was the first and probably ONLY time I will head to the bathroom at an event when everyone is going to the restroom at the same time and I will only have to wait behind one other person. Craziness! Now, Tony on the other hand had quite a wait. ;-) Poor Guy! Ha ha... Below are pics I took with my camera phone, I didn't realize I could have taken my camera, lots of others did. Oh well, so the pictures are not exactly the best ever, but you can still see what I mean for you to see.

On Sunday morning we went to have brunch at a place on Richmond street called Magnolia Bar and Grill. The waitress said $4.50 bottomless Mimosa's and I said, "SOLD!" We ate some of the buffet brunch and then we got the bill. $25 per person for the buffet. Ugh... So, I said to the waitress, "Another Mimosa please!" Ha ha .... I figured that since i was full and couldn't eat anymore I had better try to get my money's worth from the mimosas. So, we left the restaurant and started to head out of town, or so we thought... We were on the opposite side of the freeway from where we entered Houston, so we ended up going the wrong way on the highway for like 10 miles or something. Tony and I were both like, this doesn't look right... ha ha... So, on our journey the wrong way, we passed right by Reliant Stadium where the Houston Texans play. I thought it was neat looking so I took a picture as we passed going the RIGHT way this time.
We both had a great time this weekend. Mimi and Poppy watched the bebe thankfully!
Thank you Dick and Ruth!!!
My mom used some of her frequent flier miles or something to pay for our hotel room.
Thank you Mama Gail!!!
